Chew The Fat! returns to The End on March 25th for a very special party to launch the new release on Fat! records, a spectacular mix compilation in association with The End by a certain DJ called Friendly.
DJ, producer, Aussie breaks star, Breakspoll winner, Chew The Fat! resident, and a man who really does live up to his appointed DJ name, Friendly has topped the lot by producing a smacker of a release. “This comp is a good representation of the sound I'm playing at the moment- touches of funk, electro, house and of course loads of breaks. All the tracks have soul, and their own individual personality, solid and funky, which is the sound I'm really going for” says Friendly.
The latest in an illustrious series of releases from the hallowed Fat! towers, the mix contains a bevy of breaks stormers, including some of Friendly's all time faves; Zoot Woman's 'Grey Day', Rennie Pilgrem and Uberzone's 'Cous Cous', Plump DJs' 'Bullet Train', and Soul of Man's 'Shake Em Down'. The Chew the Fat! Friendly compilation is set to have a place in the hearts of breaks lovers worldwide. It embodies all the very best things about the breakbeat culture today… good times, irreverent fun, and funk fuelled party moments. It's funky and tough at the same time, driving, but never boring, and packed full of personality and originality.
Friendly’s sets at Chew the Fat! and around the world have been peak time, hands in the air, grinning, gurning, monsters and no-one can deny that this breakbeat maestro has the skills to solidly rock any party.
With Nice Up hosting the Lounge we can expect an abundance of lushed out funk grooves.
With a fantastic line up to launch a fantastic mix album, there's ample excuse to get down to The End and party on March 25th. The diet starts tomorrow, today let’s get Fat!
