Isms & SchismsMagistrate
Hidden Sequence returns, this time to kick off a new label Magistrate, and hot on the heels of their quick-to-sell out 'Silent Roots' last year. This fresh EP seamlessly bridges classic 70s Jamaican dub with modern, bass-heavy and dubwise delights, starting with 'Isms & Schisms'. The horns are brilliantly inviting as are the low ends which have been well worked on a vast desk and come packed with echo and effects. 'Magistrates Dub' is an immediately infectious skank that shifts into a deep, dub-heavy exploration and unites past and present dub influences.

2t2Conspiracy International
One of the most legendary female producers in history of electronic music brings out her sixth solo album - not to mention her numerous seminal recordings as part of Throbbing Gristle and Chis & Cosey - and the first in three years. 2t2 is an intimate yet electrifying statement, a dualistic journey through rhythmic propulsion and meditative introspection across nine tracks entirely composed, performed and produced solely by Cosey herself. With 2t2, she expolores personal loss and global upheavalm transforming them into a defiant sonic odyssey, weaving raw energy and introspective depth together. The beat-driven tracks pulse with kinetic urgency, echoing her industrial and electronic roots, while the ambient passages invite deep contemplation. Lead single 'Stound' exemplifies this balanceiCosey's overtone chanting evokes resilience and catharsis, grounding the record in both personal and universal strength. 'Threnody' pays tribute to Delia Derbyshire and Andy Christian, weaving echoes of past creative dialogues into Cosey's present explorations. Even in its darker moments, there's a lightness, a refusal to succumb to despair, in evidende and Cosey seemingly embraces sorrow as a path to joy, a reminder that resistance and resilience are acts of creation. With 2t2, Cosey Fanni Tutti once again defies convention, crafting an album that is personal and powerful.

Long Time ComingRounder US
Sierra Ferrell's third full-length release signals a remarkable culmination of her evolution from itinerant performer to one of Nashville's most beguiling voices. Raised on the road and sharpened in busking circles, Ferrell here folds bluegrass, old-time swing and pre-war balladry into something tender and deeply her own. 'The Sea' and 'Jeremiah' set the tone with sly melodies and gently wayward arrangements, while 'Bells of Every Chapel'-a duet with Billy Strings-waltzes between devotion and delirium. 'West Virginia Waltz' and 'Silver Dollar' nod to her Appalachian roots, but the instrumentation is never nostalgic: saws, toy pianos, accordions and lap steel brush against each other with intuitive charm. Tracks like 'Give It Time' and 'Why'd Ya Do It' showcase her voice's husky magnetism, at once earthy and elusive. Across twelve tracks, Ferrell moves freely through genre and form, backed by a meticulous studio cast including Jerry Douglas, Tim O'Brien, and Sarah Jarosz. It's a record steeped in tradition yet unburdened by it-never flashy, just assured, generous and strange in all the right ways.

Greenteeth / Henry Greenleaf - Loxton EP

Loxton EPTemple Of Sound
Sub Basics's Temple Of Sound is back with new music from Henry Greenleaf who appears under his new moniker, Greenteeth. It is a project he is clearly using to cook up smart back room minimal sounds going off this evidence: 'Loxton' is a slow motion and prowling groove but one with deep, menacing bass and nice louche percussion. 'Jungle Love' is another subversive sound with a snaking rhythm and dubby low ends, dusty hi hats and late night mischief. Last of, 'On & On & On' plays out over all of the flipside with shuffling drums that are light and airy and topped with wispy drones. It's delightfully hypnotic.

Dub Tapes Vol.2Before I Die
Lars Fischer aka Klangkollektor, returns with a serene and introspective EP that deepens his exploration of dub-infused ambient music. Drawing from his usual analogue instruments and effects, Fischer crafts a soothing soundscape where live basslines provide a warm, womb-like vibe and gentle synths and piano improvisations evoke images of birdsong and mountain streams. Tracks like 'Ferry from Torkwrith' and 'Isle of Stonsey' offer meditative journeys that fuse elements of dub techno with melodic richness. Fischer's ability to create music that serves as a refuge from the chaotic world is what sets him apart and invites you to take a moment of peace and introspection in his company.

Womack Brothers / The Valentinos - Reserva Special: SAR Records

Reserva Special: SAR RecordsSoul4real
The 'SAR' EP celebrates the early brilliance of the American Womack family, originally performing as the Womack Brothers before evolving into The Valentinos. This well curated collection showcases four lesser known gems that trace a certain aspect of soul's evolution from the gospel depth of 'Couldn't Hear Nobody Pray' to the raw r&b of 'Don't Go Away' and 'Rock In The Cradle Of Love,' while the stunning group soul of 'Put Me Down Easy' is another doozy. Most tracks make their vinyl debut here, with 'Couldn't Hear Nobody Pray' previously only appearing on a rare SAR pressing. It forms a vital tribute to soul's origins.

Earth Wind & Funk Vol 2 Pt 2Samosa Italy
Samosa Records quickly follows up the first volume of its Earth, Wind & Funk series with another dynamic double-vinyl compilation that continues its established tradition of blending Afro, Latin and funk influences into infectious disco-house grooves. The EP picks a seriously punch with tracks like Leslie Lello's 'R U Doing' (De Gama Re-Groove), a bass-driven house anthem with soaring synths, Frank Virgilio's 'Juice,' a fusion of acid basslines, organ stabs and tribal vocals, and Javi Frias's 'The Big Dance,' which is an electrifying track with bongos, laser beams and a disco bassline that delivers exactly what its title promises.
